Forest Butterfly by crazed-fangirl Forest Butterfly by crazed-fangirl
One of the necklaces I've made for the upcoming RenFest.

18 ga 3/16" BA with clear green glass drops, Swarovski crystal links, and a nifty butterfly pendant with Swarovskis, as well. ^_^ One of the more "girly" pieces I've made, but I have a feeling it'll find a good home.

*edit* It has found a good home - The girl who bought it asked I add a few extra links in the back so it can also be used as a headdress, and I'm happy to say it works both ways.

Thank you. I try to use maille in a slightly different style than what's normally seen.

It was INCREDIBLY hot when I made this - I had a pink butterfly, but I was sunburned, and it reminded me of that. :P So I decided to use nice, soothing green.

Thank you. ^_^ I think it's my best piece to date.
I've got a few more butterfly charms laying around, and I've really been itching to do something with them because the weather's just been too... Blech.
Honestly, if it were snowing it would be cheerier.

Tell me about it! I just got a downpour of snow yesterday, and it made me very happy.
But it was so brief, and the weather's been bland and somewhat warm. :(
Now good for my pysch, I need some darn snow!

We all visited my family (they're in NY State - The part that's all woods) and my poor brother, who lives in Houston, was all sad that there was no snow! I mean, we're supposed to have piles of lake effect! T_T

Well that's what most of this stuff is, isn't it? Finding new ways, making shinier, newer things; making progress? Etc.?

Ok, so how did I miss this one? Very pretty. I like how the butterfly's 'shadow' sits behind it in the maille. I never would have thought it as a headdress, but I can see how that would work.

Verrah nice, glad you had fun at the show!

Thank you! ^_^ I had it sitting on one of my fabric-covered lampshades and for some reason more than half the people that saw it though of it as a headdress. 0_o?
Dunno, but it looked really cute on her anyway.

Thanks. ^_^
It took a lot of fiddling, and I had to change my original concept four or five times just so the thing would sit "right" (due to the weight of the butterfly), but it was worth it in the end!
