Hot Rod Flame Bikini Top

THIS is why I've been pretty quiet on the maille front lately. I've been working on this in between the new bsuiness and prepping for two huge shows. More to come as soon as I unpack from this weekend to take stock before this coming one.

Anyways, 'tis a bikini top with a flame pattern inlay and suede straps for the neck and back. I drew the flame pattern out on some blank maille graph paper that I printed out and just went from there. I made the top to fit a mannequin so it's a B/C cup (dang mannequins are so oddly-sized). I'm a D, so it's kinda small, but it still works out. I was inspired to make it because I got into a motorcycle rally (vintage bikes! ) and I wanted something really amazing to show. I sadly didn't get it done in time, but I had something to work on during the event and it generated plenty of buzz that way! ^_^ As you can see, it's street-legal and quite comfy, if I do say so myself. I'll have to wear it around a bit to see if I like the straps being suede or not. I may switch to a heavy grosgrain or a thinner leather. We'll see.

I put this in the "Textiles > Clothing" category, because I'm not totally sure where maille clothing is that isn't obviously a costume or armor piece belongs. Any suggestions?
