I keep on saying I'm going to do this, so I finally did. Here are my hands! I scanned my hands in after a few hours of doing some chainmaile with brass and aulminum, because this is what my hands typically look like. I'll spare you the view of the backs; just know that my fingernails are short and broken-like, and have grime under them, and that most of my fingers have hangnails.
If anyone else decides to scan in their hands, let me know! I'd love to see what they look like. ^_^
Brass is smelly and "grimes" too easily. It also tastes yucky. If I ever do any sort of prolonged project (in one sitting... time permitting... RHYMES!) that will show on my hands, I'll scan mine too!

Yeah, but as a square poncho it will look awesome... We hope.
Honestly though, most of that grime came from the aluminum! Brass does get plenty of grime on me, though. I've long ago quit caring if I had smudges on my hands...

We might be working with different brass (or just working it differently) because it ends up leaving a lot of gunk in my fingertips. Hmmm.
Ah well, I'm a newbie at this mailling business (about a month, now, but I can make just about everything exc JPL and tight tetrahedrons), so I might just have to speed up.
Cheerio!

I had a wonderful art teacher in high school (many many years ago) - her name was Gretchen Schmidt .... she'd frequently stick her hands out and say.. don't worry about your hands.. but what you make with them... my hands never look anyhow.. see? .. and we'd see the callouses and also see the beautiful things she made (and showed us how to make) ... it really inspired me ^_^
... and you should see my hands, lol .. they look well used... ^_^

HEh - A club that just features pictures of hands would be a neat thing on DA. Maybe pictures of hands in action, making things. A painter's hands covered in paint, my calloused mits, even a photographer with their finger on the button, ready to go...
I think that would be a neat club.

The black coloration it put on you reminds me of when I do soda at work... (fill soda, face soda). Takes a while and my hands are pitch black by the end....add facing into that and I could fingerpaint!
*laughs* I usually end up with smudges on my face, too. Bit of hair or kitty fur gets on my face, or my nose itches... I've usually got a few bits here and there. Sometimes the dark smudgies won't wash off, and I have to either scrub really hard, or just ignore it. Typically I ignore it, though. They'll only be clean for a few minutes!

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

IT sounds wierd, but having my hands like this doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I feel better having these calluses.
