Sinusitis - I has it.
And no, I will not show you it. It's quite bad.
Yeah, so - I've been up to working on my Link shirt commission in between trying to keep unpacking the house and mind the rabbits and all that normal house stuff.
The girls are getting along quite well, actually - Peek at my Flickr for many pictures of rabbity cute!
[link]But on Sunday, after we spent a fun night at Dave's (AKA Pester the Jester) place to celebrate his birthday, I woke up feeling awful. A pain in my nose and throat on the left side. It was wierd, I could swear there was something sharp up in there. Like I had a popcorn hull or a bit of a chip stuck somewhere up in the back of my mouth where my nose connects. I knew that wasn't the case, but it still felt really wierd.
But throughout the day I get progressively worse. I explain all the symptoms to my mom (a nurse) over the phone and she says that if I start to have problems with my throat or if it spreads to the other side then I should go in to see a doctor.
Anyway, after snorting copious amounts of saline solution up my nose in an attempt to rinse out some of the nastiness (it just kept coming!) I decided to not go to the stage combat meeting. I just felt too awful and I was feeling kind of loopy as well. Kind of fuzzy in a lot of places. I had a lot of trouble sleeping as well, and yesterday I started to get a terrible cough, and soon I was having trouble speaking. I was actually getting feverish, which is wierd for me.
Still, we ended up going to the Spring Festival at Sam, Ruth and Michael's, which was a lot of fun. I'm sure the good food helped me feel better, it was great, I just wish we didn't have to leave early because of me being sick.
But after the festival we went to McKnight (an area north of the city) to grab some books that we needed - I fell asleep in the car, and requested to that Brian grab me a manga - and right after that we came back here, got dressed in normal clothes, and we went to the ER, I was feeling that bad.
That was an adventure. A long and boring adventure, but one all the same. We got there a bit before 11 or so I think, and didn't get home until about 2 AM. It was actually pretty slow, but they were very short-staffed because of the holiday, it seemed. They did blood work, which meant I got to sit around with an IV in my arm for about two of those hours. I tried to nap on the bed they put me in, but it was an exam bed and not that comfy.
I'm pretty sure the reason they took so long with me is because there was this guy two rooms down from mine that was giving them a lot of trouble. He was yelling, screaming, cussing, fighting - I think he was homeless or on drugs or something like that. I know that the big orderly and the uniformed security guys they had around were called over at least five times, and they gave him like four doses of heavy sedatives just while I was there!
I was finally able to flag down a nurse and she brought Brian in with my manga - Yay! - but of course, about five pages in the doctor shows up and explains that I have an infection, they'll get someone to take out my IV, etc. You think I would have learned by now that killing my boredom would result in a quick release.
Anyways, I'm going to go lay down and drink some more water (fluids!) and finish said manga. I just wanted to give everyone an update becuase I've been very slow here on DA lately.
Later!
