Saloon - Chainmaille Necklace

This is what happens when I play with hematite. I didn't have a clear vision in my head; all I had were these cool hematite square beads that I really wanted to use. It actually took almost as long for me to settle on a design and a weave as it did for me to actually make this thing!

In the end, I was inspired by Victorian collar and choker necklaces. I love chokers, and I realized that I hadn't made any really spectacular ones in a while. I was originally going to hang beaded drops rather than chain from this, but ~SR388, in his usual design genius, suggested chain, and I recalled some awesome chain I had stashed away that I've been dying to use. The rest is history.
